"What Spring Does with the Cherry Trees"
FerriFirenze is pleased to announce the exhibition curated by Studio Leggero, What Spring Does with the Cherry Trees, opening to the public by appointment on May 12, 2025, at its headquarters in Villa Corsi Salviati in Sesto Fiorentino.
Inspired by the line “I want to do with you what spring does with the cherry trees” from a poem by Pablo Neruda, this exhibition celebrates rebirth, the blossoming of creativity, the future, and the strength of the feminine world, in a poetic dialogue between applied arts and contemporary visual arts.

Founded by Ilaria Furlotti and Giulio Ferrari, FerriFirenze has always been a custodian of artisanal excellence, capable of translating emotions, tradition, and dreams into high jewelry creations. Within the refined Renaissance spaces of Villa Corsi Salviati, FerriFirenze shapes precious metals and gemstones into poetic expressions of beauty, upholding the spirit of the most authentic Made in Italy.
The exhibition What Spring Does with the Cherry Trees explores the deep connection between the manual skill of high jewelry and contemporary artistic investigation through the works of three talented artists and designers: Hermine Bourdin (Sarrebourg, France, 1988), Duccio Maria
Gambi (Florence, 1981), and Sara Ricciardi (Benevento, 1989).
Their creations - some conceived specifically for the occasion - engage in dialogue with each other and with the natural setting of Villa Corsi Salviati.
With its charming Baroque façade, terraced towers, and sculptures, the villa is a testament to a bygone era in which literature and art were interwoven with daily life. Today, FerriFirenze’s home remains an oasis of enchanting gardens, flora, sculptures, and mosaics, envisioned by some of the most renowned creatives of the time. Committed to preserving Italy’s beauty and cultural heritage, the jewelry house has contributed to restoring the gardens and their statues, thereby upholding an ethos of cultural preservation. Originally, the villa and its lands were centered around family life, but with the rise of the Medici, it became a summer retreat for the artists and poets of the time. To this day, Villa Corsi Salviati continues to inspire creative enterprises like FerriFirenze to bring tangible wonders to life.
The exhibition weaves together a world of play, color, and materiality with one of formal and poetic research. Surfaces, materials, and forms evoke a springtime that is not merely a season, but a metaphor for a new beginning: a rebirth imbued with lightness, energy, experimentation, and femininity. Like the work of FerriFirenze’s master goldsmiths, the selected artworks are rooted in artisanal tradition yet blossom into new visions, suspended between reverence for materials and the freedom of creative expression.
From the dancing sculptures and drawings of Hermine Bourdin, to the refined contrasts between nature and architecture in Duccio Maria Gambi’s work, and the magical, colorful storytelling of Sara Ricciardi, the exhibition invites visitors on a sensory journey, where each work becomes a window onto the continuous metamorphosis of matter and imagination.
“Spring,” then, is a hymn to creation, to new beginnings, and to the transformative power of art and beauty.
