JEWELLERY BRAND FERRIFIRENZE TEAMS UP WITH FASHION DESIGNER JOANNA CHU LIAO FOR HONG KONG EVENT.
Until now, FerriFirenze has been a well-kept secret in the exclusive world of jewellery.
From haute joaillerie installations to esteemed gallery previews, Hong Kong’s streets regularly host some of the world’s best jewellery events—but few offer as much beauty and expertise as FerriFirenze’s showcase at Ami inside Alexandra House, on September 18. In a modern celebration of artistry, fashion and female creatives, the event will showcase FerriFirenze’s collaboration with one of society’s brightest young things, fashion designer Joanna Chu Liao, bringing a timeless aesthetic to the city—and the choice of location isn’t an accident.
FerriFirenze is led by Giulia Callegari, daughter of co-founder and renowned jeweller Ilaria Furlotti. After a successful career, instead of retiring, Furlotti decided to make use of her experience and partner up with industry veteran Giulio Ferrari to launch the Florence-based brand. The pair embraced their Italian goldsmithing heritage and employed artisanship dating back to the Renaissance—and the resulting jewellery is chic and contemporary, with references to needle-and-thread techniques.
Callegari was previously a Hong Kong resident and tells Tatler she “cannot contain her excitement” about FerriFirenze’s forthcoming event. “Coming back to Hong Kong means a lot,” she says. The brand was stocked by Lane Crawford when it first ventured into Asia—and it has since expanded its offering, most recently with the Lucciole, Memoria, Spicchi and Croffio collections. In addition to creating objects of rare beauty, Callegari’s ambition is to embrace ethical jewellery practices. As such, FerriFirenze is committed to using conflict-free diamonds.
